My Go To Lip Colors

Hey everyone!

I hope you had a great 4th of July weekend and had a great time celebrating with friends and family! Lately on my Instagram posts, people have been asking what lip color I am wearing in my pics. I have two go to lip looks that I wear 90% of the time. One is a bright classic red lip and the other is a my lips but better nude, both of which are long lasting and what I consider all nighters.

Classic Red:

My classic red is made up of two things, Mac Cherry lip liner and the Sephora brand long lasting lip stain in #1. I line my lip with Mac Cherry and then use the lip stain to fill in. The stain has a doe foot applicator so its much easier to be more precise when I use the lip liner as my border. Once you apply the lip stain, make sure its evenly distributed and then don't blot your lips or anything. I let the stain dry and then I'm good to go. It will last me all night through food and drinks, etc...

My lips but better nude:

I have two variations of this nude, a more mauve version and another version that is slightly lighter and leaning more towards to a slight pink. I start with Mac Soar lip liner. I line my lips but also fill in my lips with the liner as well. It provides a really good base and makes any lipstick I apply on top last all day and night. For the more mauve option, I apply Mac Brave lipstick on top of the lip liner. For the slightly lighter version, I apply Mac Velvet Teddy on top.

I have to say, I am low key obsessed with Soar lip liner and I really love the look it gives. It reminds me of the 90's and I am totally into that look right now.

I hope this helps and that one of these looks suits you as well. If you all have any other questions about any other looks or products I wear, let me know and I'll respond here :)!

Nine Truths And A Lie

Hey everyone,

I wanted to do a get to know me kind of blog because a lot of people are new followers and may not know too much about me. I have written 10 facts about me and/or my family. Nine of them are true and one is false, see if you can guess which one is false. I will tell you which one was at the very end of the post :).

1. I am Jamaican. I was born there and both of my parents were born there as well. My mom is Black Jamaican and my dad is Indian Jamaican. I still have quite a bit of family that lives there.

2. I went to University of South Florida. I originally wanted to be a doctor so I have a B.S. in Biomedical Science and a masters in Medical Science.

3.  My first son, Tony Gaskins III or T,  was a preemie baby. I had him at 7 months and he spent 3 1/2 months in the NICU. His first three years were rough and we spent a lot of time in doctors offices and emergency rooms. By the grace of God, he is now doing amazing and people who didn't know him them can't tell he ever had anything wrong.

4. I got married when I was 20 years old. I was a sophomore in college. I was really young but also extremely mature. I've always carried myself as if I was older than I actually am.

5. Before I had Tayden, I competed in fitness competitions in the bikini division. At some point (maybe when Tayden is older), I would like to try and compete again just to show myself I can do it.

6. We would like to have two more kids. We plan to try again for another when Tayden is about 2 1/2.

7. I am a quality over quanity type person. I am not one of those girls with a huge group of girl friends but the ones I do have are amazing. If I consider you my friend, then I got your back for life.

8. I am extremely shy, if I don't know the people I am around. But once I get to know you, I will talk your head off lol. I also get really nervous doing any type of public speaking which is why the hubby and I haven't done a seminar together yet.

9. I am really tough and extremely competitive. I was raised with boy cousins so I learned how to be tough and defend myself at a very young age. Tony used to always joke that he felt I had more testosterone than other women lol.

10. Losing all of the baby weight after my second baby has been a lot tougher than it was after my first. I am not stressing it or putting a lot of pressure on myself though. I want to make sure I take the time to enjoy my baby and I know I will continue to lose the weight if I eat healthy and train when I can.

Can you figure out which one is false?

If you guessed #6, you are right! We feel that with our two boys, our family is complete. I have always felt like I am a boy mom and we feel very blessed and fortunate to have T and baby Tayden.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you learned something new about me :).

Goal Setting In July

Hey everyone,

Can you believe its already July? We are already half way through the year and half way through summer break, craziness! I know we make resolutions at the beginning of the year but along the way things change, we may have a switch in our life, or  switch in our priorities. Near the end of each month, I sit down and make 3-4 goals for the next month, sometimes they are really small things and sometimes they are life altering. It helps give me purpose and direction for the next month. I am going to share my goals to maybe help inspire you and also keep me accountable.

1. #50MILESINJULY

Prior to my second pregnancy and my horrible ongoing bout with plantar fasciitis, I used to love to run. I ran track in high school and in college and it became my "me time" so to speak. Running just helps me clear my mind and releases stress. This month, I want to force myself to get out there and run again. If I run 4 to 5 times a week about 2.5-3 miles each time, then I will hit 50 miles before the month is over. If you aren't a runner, you could also do your 50 miles walking in July.

2. GET BACK TO MEAL PLANNING

I used to compete in fitness competitions and when I did, it forced me to be extremely me organized with my food and meal planning. I am a very competitive person so whenever I don't have something I am striving for I tend to fall off the wagon a bit. We also have really hectic schedules so it is easy to get used to eating on the run. I am hoping to force myself to get back on the wagon and get better with planning our meals so we can get back to eating better.

3. READ A BOOK THIS MONTH

This might seen like a simple goal but being a mom to a really active 8 year old and a 1 year old is extremely time consuming and takes up every free second I have each day. I love to read and I am one of those people that truly begins to get consumed in the books I read. I would like to take the time this month even if its just 30 min a couple days a week to let myself enjoy something that I never take the time to do any more.

4. BLOG MORE

As you can probably tell from all of my previous posts lol, I have a hard time taking time for myself. I love blogging and I think of it as my virtual journal, whether one person reads it or 200 people, I really don't mind either way. There are always a million things on my mind that I want to blog and share on my YouTube channel but I rarely make the time to do stuff like that. I want to try to blog at least a couple times each week but more if possible.

I hope you all are having a great week so far and that this post inspires you to set your own goals for the month of July!

Weekend Recap: Miami

Hey everyone,

I hope you all are having a great Tuesday! This past Friday was Tony's Real Love Tour in Miami. We took T down with us and Tayden stayed at home with my mom. We wanted to give T a little mini vacation without his little brother so he would be able to get some time with us without feeling like he had to competed for attention. Here are a few pics from our weekend getaway.

Dwayne Wade was having his camp at our hotel so T got a pic.

Tayden's Gym 1st Bday Recap and Slide Show

Hey Everyone,

I finally have sorted out Tayden's birthday party pics and I wanted to show you all a few clips from his party. I made into a short slide show because it seemed like the easiest way to display the pics

His party was a my gym type birthday but custom for him. We rented an indoor gym at a church and turned it into a baby play area with a few things for the older siblings to do as well. We had about 10 one year olds coming to the party so we wanted the party to be baby friendly. We purchased all the equipment for the kids and then let the kids take home whatever they wanted from the party. If you have any questions about where anything came from please ask and I will do my best to answer your questions. Enjoy :)!

30 DAYS OF YOGA

 Hey Everyone,

I hope you all had an amazing weekend! Today,  I wanted to share my new found love for yoga. I am by no means a yogi and I barely know what I am doing to be honest. I have seen a ton of people posting about yoga and I decided I wanted to give it a try. I made it one of my new years resolutions but really had no idea where to start. I didn't want to show up at a class without having a clue what to do. So like with most things I turned to YouTube. I found a girl by the name of Yoga with Adriene (link below). She has a playlist on her channel called 30 days of yoga for beginning yoga. I have only been doing it for a little over a week but I love it so far. I even brought my yoga mat in my luggage when I went away for a night because I didn't want to miss a day (crazy right?).

Let me tell why I love it so much:

-It forces me to disconnect and take time for just me. With two kids, it can be really difficult to take any interrupted time for myself. Once I get the boys in bed, I get my mat and take 20 -30 min just to myself. While focusing on the moves and my breathing, I am not able to think about anything else. My mind gets much a needed (albeit short) mental vacation each day.

-It's actually a really good workout. Being into fitness, I always looked at yoga as easy and not enough of a challenge for me. Boy was I wrong, in some portions of the session I am sweating and my heart rate is through the roof. Don't let the relaxing mat fool you lol.

-In just a week, I can already see the difference in my core strength. The moves really work your core and force it to strengthen each time you do it. And really who doesnt want a stronger midsection.

If you are at all interested in trying it, this is a perfect way to do so. Just get a mat and turn on your computer and you can try it in the comfort of your own home.

Hope you guys have a fab Monday!

P.S. I finally found my vlog camera, so I will be uploading pictures and some footage this week.

Update!

Hey everyone,

I hope you are doing well!! I know, I know, long time no talk and I am so sorry for that. When things get crazy over here I tend to put myself and the things I want to get done on the back burner (I know story of a mom). Its been busy few months to say the least. March was Tayden's 1st birthday, my hubby's birthday the next day, and the end of the month was our 8 year anniversary. April was little Tony's birthday and house hunting. And if you know me, you know I love to throw parties and I plan them and put it all together myself. Needless to say I feel like I haven't been able to take a breath. I have some pictures and a little vlog footage from the boys birthdays and our anniversary, if you all would be interested in seeing them let me know and Ill put together a slide show for you all :).

Secondly, another thing I constantly battle with is having that perfectionist mindset. Where that fits in regards to my blog or youtube is that I tend to not to post or film if things aren't perfect in my mind. I have a 1 year old (as many of you know) and I am constantly working on losing all of my baby weight and even though I have lost a lot of it, I feel like if I am not at my goal weight that I cant be a help to other women until I am. And same thing for my youtube, there are lot of videos I want to film or think will be beneficial to people but then I think that because I am not an "expert" on those things that it wont be helpful. I definitely feel social media helps add to those feelings, because it always seems like everyone has it all together. But I can assure you that nothing is perfect and we all have battles we face every day. But I decided I am going to do my best to just blog and youtube about what I want to and hopefully someone can find the information helpful and beneficial!

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday :)!
