I want it all...

Hey everyone,

I wanted to do a get to know me kind of blog because a lot of people are new followers and may not know too much about me. I have written 10 facts about me and/or my family. Nine of them are true and one is false, see if you can guess which one is false. I will tell you which one was at the very end of the post :).

1. I am Jamaican. I was born there and both of my parents were born there as well. My mom is Black Jamaican and my dad is Indian Jamaican. I still have quite a bit of family that lives there.

2. I went to University of South Florida. I originally wanted to be a doctor so I have a B.S. in Biomedical Science and a masters in Medical Science.

3.  My first son, Tony Gaskins III or T,  was a preemie baby. I had him at 7 months and he spent 3 1/2 months in the NICU. His first three years were rough and we spent a lot of time in doctors offices and emergency rooms. By the grace of God, he is now doing amazing and people who didn't know him them can't tell he ever had anything wrong.

4. I got married when I was 20 years old. I was a sophomore in college. I was really young but also extremely mature. I've always carried myself as if I was older than I actually am.

5. Before I had Tayden, I competed in fitness competitions in the bikini division. At some point (maybe when Tayden is older), I would like to try and compete again just to show myself I can do it.

6. We would like to have two more kids. We plan to try again for another when Tayden is about 2 1/2.

7. I am a quality over quanity type person. I am not one of those girls with a huge group of girl friends but the ones I do have are amazing. If I consider you my friend, then I got your back for life.

8. I am extremely shy, if I don't know the people I am around. But once I get to know you, I will talk your head off lol. I also get really nervous doing any type of public speaking which is why the hubby and I haven't done a seminar together yet.

9. I am really tough and extremely competitive. I was raised with boy cousins so I learned how to be tough and defend myself at a very young age. Tony used to always joke that he felt I had more testosterone than other women lol.

10. Losing all of the baby weight after my second baby has been a lot tougher than it was after my first. I am not stressing it or putting a lot of pressure on myself though. I want to make sure I take the time to enjoy my baby and I know I will continue to lose the weight if I eat healthy and train when I can.

Can you figure out which one is false?

If you guessed #6, you are right! We feel that with our two boys, our family is complete. I have always felt like I am a boy mom and we feel very blessed and fortunate to have T and baby Tayden.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you learned something new about me :).

Hey everyone,

Can you believe its already July? We are already half way through the year and half way through summer break, craziness! I know we make resolutions at the beginning of the year but along the way things change, we may have a switch in our life, or  switch in our priorities. Near the end of each month, I sit down and make 3-4 goals for the next month, sometimes they are really small things and sometimes they are life altering. It helps give me purpose and direction for the next month. I am going to share my goals to maybe help inspire you and also keep me accountable.

1. #50MILESINJULY

Prior to my second pregnancy and my horrible ongoing bout with plantar fasciitis, I used to love to run. I ran track in high school and in college and it became my "me time" so to speak. Running just helps me clear my mind and releases stress. This month, I want to force myself to get out there and run again. If I run 4 to 5 times a week about 2.5-3 miles each time, then I will hit 50 miles before the month is over. If you aren't a runner, you could also do your 50 miles walking in July.

2. GET BACK TO MEAL PLANNING

I used to compete in fitness competitions and when I did, it forced me to be extremely me organized with my food and meal planning. I am a very competitive person so whenever I don't have something I am striving for I tend to fall off the wagon a bit. We also have really hectic schedules so it is easy to get used to eating on the run. I am hoping to force myself to get back on the wagon and get better with planning our meals so we can get back to eating better.

3. READ A BOOK THIS MONTH

This might seen like a simple goal but being a mom to a really active 8 year old and a 1 year old is extremely time consuming and takes up every free second I have each day. I love to read and I am one of those people that truly begins to get consumed in the books I read. I would like to take the time this month even if its just 30 min a couple days a week to let myself enjoy something that I never take the time to do any more.

4. BLOG MORE

As you can probably tell from all of my previous posts lol, I have a hard time taking time for myself. I love blogging and I think of it as my virtual journal, whether one person reads it or 200 people, I really don't mind either way. There are always a million things on my mind that I want to blog and share on my YouTube channel but I rarely make the time to do stuff like that. I want to try to blog at least a couple times each week but more if possible.

I hope you all are having a great week so far and that this post inspires you to set your own goals for the month of July!
